Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Project Design Mechanical Engineer to lead data center design projects, remediate issues, and upgrade infrastructure across multiple regions. You will drive design, review submittals, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to standards.

Ideal candidates bring a mechanical engineering background with a strong grasp of heat transfer, CFD, and HVAC systems, plus experience with large cooling distributions and project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of design experience in industrial or commercial facilities (data centers, etc.).
• Experience with large-scale cooling distribution systems.
• Master's degree or PM certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of heat transfer and fluid dynamics; CFD experience.
• Experience design, installation, operation or commissioning of HVAC equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

• Own design projects for data center infrastructures to improve capacity and reliability.
• Review design submittals and equipment data for regional data centers.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure standards and timely delivery.
• Manage change/version control and project scopes; prepare RFPs and RFIs.
• Support commissioning, operation, and turnover of systems; travel as needed.
