Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer to join our expanding Data Centers (DC) Cloud regions. This role involves hands-on troubleshooting and operation of electrical and mechanical equipment.

As an Engineering Operations Engineer, you will operate and maintain AWS data center infrastructure, ensuring safety procedures are followed and facility operations are efficient. Your work will help sustain high availability for customers and maintain the technical infrastructure of the data center.

Key job responsibilities

• SAFETY: Maintain the highest safety standards, promote a safety culture, and address safety risks/issues with other teams. Lead safety initiatives and projects.
• ENGINEERING & FACILITY OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE: Support electrical and mechanical equipment such as UPSs, switchgear, circuit breakers, ATSs, diesel generators, chillers, HVAC systems, exhaust fans, VFDs, and transformers. Operate and troubleshoot facility equipment, perform root cause analysis, and drive operational improvements.

A day in the life

• Work rotational shifts of 4 days on 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with on-call responsibilities.
• Conduct daily operational rounds, record readings, and supervise contractors.
• Perform physical tasks such as moving objects, working outdoors, in noisy environments, at heights, and from ladders.
