Data Cabling Engineer

The Data Cabling Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems that support data, voice, and video communications. This role ensures efficient, safe, and compliant cabling infrastructure in commercial, industrial, or residential projects across the UAE. Working closely with IT teams, project managers, and site supervisors, the engineer plays a key role in supporting network performance and reliability while adhering to local regulations and international standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Installing and terminating data, voice, and fiber optic cabling according to project specifications and industry standards.
2. Reading and interpreting technical drawings, floor plans, and cabling schematics to ensure accurate implementation.
3. Testing and certifying network cabling systems using appropriate tools to verify connectivity and performance.
4. Identifying and resolving issues related to cabling faults, signal loss, or infrastructure inconsistencies.
5. Collaborating with IT and construction teams to support network setup, equipment installation, and system integration.
6. Ensuring cabling work meets safety, fire code, and UAE telecommunication regulatory standards.
7. Maintaining detailed records of installations, maintenance, and testing results for project documentation.
8. Adhering to worksite safety protocols and using appropriate PPE during installations and service calls.

Requirements:

1. Diploma or technical certification in Electrical, Electronics, or Telecommunications Engineering.
2. Minimum 2-4 years of hands-on experience in structured cabling installation and maintenance, preferably within the UAE.
3. Strong knowledge of cabling standards such as EIA/TIA, BICSI, and familiarity with Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optics.
4. Proficiency in using cable testers, fusion splicers, and hand tools related to data cabling.
5. Ability to read technical blueprints and wiring diagrams.
6. Understanding of UAE regulatory requirements for low voltage and ICT installations.
7. Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
8. Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
