The position involves supporting the ongoing development and management of UAEU websites, portals, and the development of custom web applications. The Web Developer will also be responsible for providing technical advice and guidance to others as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain templates, layouts, and Cascading Style Sheets.
- Manage different stages of the software engineering process, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, training, documentation, and support.
- Design and develop web applications.
- Provide post go-live support for web applications.
- Follow web development best practices.
- Prepare test plans for web applications for User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Document all web applications, including user and technical guides.
- Support system administrators and database administrators during the deployment of web applications from test to production through the change management process.
- Make recommendations to improve the web development process as necessary.
- Adhere to all information security policies and procedures of the University.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Experience ranging from 0 to 3 years.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Accountability and resource management competencies.
- Focus on results and customer service competencies.
- Strong communication skills and teamwork.
- Knowledge of XML, XSL, XSLT.
- Experience with content management systems.
- Proficiency with development and testing frameworks and tools.
- Knowledge of Microsoft technologies such as Visual Studio .NET, InfoPath, SharePoint Designer.
- Experience designing and implementing workflows in SharePoint.
- Knowledge of relational databases and management tools like Toad.
- Optional: Knowledge of mobile development.
- Working knowledge of server-side languages like PHP, JSP, SQL, Java, and client-side languages.
- Experience with industry-standard web development tools.
- Knowledge of graphics design software like Photoshop and Flash is a plus.
