Job summary

APPIT Software Inc. is seeking a qualified Data Engineer in Dubai to define and own the enterprise data architecture roadmap, design end‑to‑end data platforms, and collaborate with C-level stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have 8–12 years of experience in data engineering or data architecture and a proven track record of working with major cloud providers. Strong communication skills are essential for this role, as you will need to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the enterprise data architecture roadmap spanning on‑premises and multi‑cloud environments
• Design end‑to‑end data platform architectures including data lakes, warehouses, and real‑time streaming layers
• Establish data modeling standards, naming conventions, and architectural patterns for the organization
• Evaluate and recommend data technologies, tools, and platforms aligned with business and technical requirements
• Lead architecture reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor data engineering teams on best practices
• Collaborate with C‑level stakeholders to align data strategy with business objectives and regional compliance requirements

Requirements

• 8–12 years of experience in data engineering or data architecture with progressive leadership responsibility
• Proven track record of designing enterprise‑scale data platforms on at least two cloud providers: AWS, Azure, GCP
• Expert knowledge of data modelling methodologies: Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault 2.0 and schema design patterns
• Deep experience with modern data stack components including data warehouses, orchestration, transformation, and governance tools
• Strong understanding of data security, encryption, access control, and regulatory compliance (UAE PDPL, GDPR)
• Exceptional communication skills with ability to present technical architecture to non‑technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

• TOGAF, DAMA CDMP, or AWS/Azure data architecture certifications
• Experience with data mesh or data fabric architectural paradigms
• Familiarity with Middle East data residency and sovereignty requirements
