The Role

Kyndryl is seeking an accomplished Senior Data Architect to design, build, and operate robust data ecosystems. This role involves shaping data architectures that enable scalable, secure, and innovative data solutions aligned with business strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement modern data architectures, including data foundations, data fabric, and AI integration.
• Develop comprehensive data models and schema designs for large-scale enterprise environments.
• Lead the design of ETL processes and DataOps workflows for efficient data integration and transformation.
• Establish data governance policies, metadata management, and data quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Guide and mentor team members and other data architects.
• Evaluate and adopt technologies for cloud data platforms, data lakes, warehouses, and streaming ecosystems.
• Drive cost optimization and performance tuning.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Promote data security, access control, and data lineage best practices.
• Lead innovation in data architecture strategies to support AI/ML initiatives and agentic AI system integration.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fields; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in large-scale data architectures.
• Expertise in data modeling, schema design, ETL, and DataOps.
• Knowledge of cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), data lakes, data warehouses, streaming platforms, and metadata tools.
• Proficiency with AI platform integration and familiarity with agentic AI systems.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance.
• Strong collaboration skills across technical and business teams.
• Experience in regulated industries like financial services is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience translating business needs into technical designs.
• Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD practices for data workflows.
• Cloud platform hands-on experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Certifications like CDMP or AWS Solutions Architect are advantageous.
