Job purpose:

The ideal candidate must ensure a profitable growth of the Group Health portfolio through analyzing healthcare data to optimize business operations and communicating the findings using data visualization and detailed reports. Collect, refine, and prepare data for basic analytics and visualization, manage issuance of Policy Performance Reports and Loss Ratio.

This role will also include the pricing and issue standard group health proposals for new business/renewals business in line with GIG practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Extract data from database using SQL and then process the data using Python software and create data models using Power BI for visualization
  • Use Power Query in Microsoft Excel to enhance and optimize processes
  • Work closely with the Pricing team for data preparation and overall medical portfolio analysis
  • Liaise with other departments to build and maintain common medical database
  • Interact with data lake teams to insure the timely delivery of the data with accuracy
  • Prepare and deliver Health Portfolio analysis based on risk segmentation
  • Identify the early warning indicators to adjust the price or indicate deteriorating trends
  • Propose alternative options that would help the client design competitive solutions.
  • Coordinate with Distribution Channels on marketable proposition to grow the portfolio and maintain profitability.
  • Monitor the performance of the assigned portfolio segment. Analyze any abnormal trends and communicate these, along with technical explanations and potential suggestions, to the Sales and Distribution teams for further communication to customers.
  • Suggest corrective measures either on whole portfolio or specific accounts to maintain profitability levels.
  • Interact with Customers and/or Intermediaries if required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the customer experience.

Minimum requirements of Role:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, Actuarial Sciences, or Computer Science.
  • Expert level proficiency in Python, SQL, Power BI, Power Query, and R language
  • Expert with dashboards developments and providing automated reporting solution on Power BI.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with high level of numeracy.
  • knowledgeable of VBA/Tableau Developer.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Recognized certifications in SQL, Python, and Power BI
