Job summary

Deutsche Post DHL Group in Dubai is seeking a Customs Clerk to manage COO processing and on-site documentation at the GM facility. You will archive records, prepare accessibility reports in Excel/Access, and liaise with LSPs to secure required documents.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and around 1 year of customs clearance experience, with strong MS Office skills and the ability to learn TMS II quickly. It is a full-time on-site position in the UAE.

Responsibilities

• Process and issue Certificates of Origin (COO).
• Maintain document archiving/filing (digital and hard copy).
• Prepare and update reports in Excel/Access.
• Follow up with Logistics Service Providers on required documents.
• Maintain and update TMS II and related tools.
• Support other team activities and on-the-job training.
• Ensure documentation complies with SOPs.

To ensure Certificates of Origin (COO) and related customs documentation are processed accurately and on time, and that all supporting records are filed and archived appropriately. Support the wider Customs team's activities to help achieve service standards and customer satisfaction.

The position will be based full-time at our customer’s site, located at the General Motors facility. The selected candidate will work directly from this location and will be expected to support day-to-day operations and collaborate closely with the customer’s on-site team as required.

In this Customs Clerk position

• Process and issue Certificates of Origin.
• Maintain document archiving/filing (digital and hard copy)
• Prepare and update reports (Excel/Access)
• Follow up with Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) on required documents
• Maintain and update TMS II system and related tools
• Support other team activities and on-the-job training initiatives
• Ensure documentation complies with SOPs

Authorities / Rights

• Apply for and print Certificates of Origin
• Independently manage the filing of documents
• Troubleshoot issues related to Certificate of Origin processing

Now, here is what we need from you!

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Working knowledge of TMS II or similar customs/trade management systems (or ability to learn quickly)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
• Good organizational and time-management skills to meet cutoffs
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Basic presentation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and support cross-functional activities
• Basic understanding of customs documentation and Certificate of Origin requirements is an advantage
• Bachelor's degree (any discipline; a background in logistics, supply chain, or business administration is an advantage)
• 1 year of experience in customs clearance operations or a related logistics/trade compliance role
