Job summary

Emirates Flight Catering is seeking a Commis I to support kitchen sections in Dubai. You will assist in final processing, cooking, dishing and cutting as directed, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.

You will maintain hygiene standards and help manage storage of food items according to guidelines. You should be familiar with products, menus, ingredients and equipment, and contribute ideas to reduce costs while reporting any equipment faults to supervisors.

Qualifications

• Experience in a culinary environment or kitchen operations.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
• Understanding of hygiene and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage individual products and activities within allocated area as trained.
• Support commi-I responsibilities including final processing, cooking, dishing and cutting as applicable to the section.
• Ensure quality of food items received and stored according to specifications.
• Contribute to correct food handling and storage per hygiene guidelines.
• Arrange and dish food items according to specified menus in compliance with safety procedures.
• Familiarize with products, processes, menus, ingredients and equipment in the area of operation.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and tidiness in kitchen, storage, chillers and freezers.
• Suggest ideas to reduce costs in a proactive manner.
• Report faults or damage to supervisor and ensure equipment is in good working order.
• Comply with quality, health, safety and environmental policies and controls.
