Job Purpose

As a CCSD Technician, you will lead the Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD), ensuring best practices and regulatory compliance in this increasingly complex area.

In This Role, You Will

1. Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the department, adhering to best practices in surface disinfection.
2. Stay current with decontamination, sterilisation, packaging, and distribution of instruments and supplies; attend continuous medical education to maintain Dubai Health Authority registration.
3. Monitor and log equipment efficiency and usage, conduct relevant tests, and ensure timely supply and readiness of equipment, including monitoring via MELATRACE system and maintaining up-to-date records for regulatory compliance.
4. Apply knowledge of cold sterilising/disinfection to prepare equipment that cannot be autoclaved for clinical use.
5. Ensure an adequate supply of sterile instruments, properly handle, process, and store sterilized equipment, and stamp each with a 6-month expiry date, including use of COMPLY stem indicator test strips.
6. Identify dental and surgical instruments and package instrument sets appropriately for clinical areas.
7. Practice safe handling of contaminated instruments, following regulatory compliance and using PPE at all times.
8. Report equipment malfunctions promptly to the Dental Nurse in charge and VP of Dental services.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

• High school education with a diploma/certificate accepted by Dubai Health Authority for CSSD Technician license.
• At least 4 years of experience; previous experience in a dental environment is an advantage.
• Proficiency in operating ultrasonic cleaners, Quattro care system for auto-lubrication, washer/disinfectors, autoclaves, deionised water plants, and instrument tracking systems.
