Job summary

Astra ProMed in Sharjah, UAE, is seeking a Specialist in Critical Care to join a leading healthcare facility. The role requires extensive ICU experience, expertise in ventilation and life support, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include managing septic patients, ARDS, and hemodynamic support, with emphasis on safety, infection control, and adherence to UAE regulatory standards. Licensing assistance may be provided.

Qualifications

• MBBS/MD or equivalent recognized medical degree.
• Postgraduate qualification in Critical Care Medicine / Intensive Care Medicine.
• Specialist-level qualification or board certification.
• Experience in Critical Care / Intensive Care Medicine as required by UAE PQR.
• ACLS certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Provide care for sepsis, septic shock, respiratory failure, ARDS and multi-organ dysfunction.
• Manage invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation and advanced respiratory support.
• Perform endotracheal intubation, central venous catheterization, arterial line placement and other critical care procedures.
• Monitor and stabilize patients requiring vasopressors, hemodynamic monitoring and organ support.
• Participate in emergency resuscitation, ACLS and critical patient stabilization.
• Interpret arterial blood gases, ECG, labs, imaging and bedside ultrasound.
• Develop and implement individualized ICU treatment plans.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers and discharge planning within ICU services.
• Collaborate with intensivists, anesthesiologists, pulmonologists, surgeons and ICU teams.
• Ensure compliance with Sharjah healthcare regulations, ICU protocols and infection control.
