Job Description

Purpose of the position:
The Crew Training Manager ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant training of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi's flight and cabin crew. As the Nominated Post Holder for Training, the role oversees training policies, instructor qualifications, and regulatory adherence while collaborating with key stakeholders to maintain high safety and proficiency standards.

Duties and responsibilities:

1. Fulfilling the duties of Nominated Post Holder Training as defined by the GCAA
2. Implement the policy, standards and procedures of the Wizz Air Abu Dhabi OM D into all training, examination and checking, in contact with the Accountable Manager
3. Ensure the safe and efficient conduct of all Wizz Air pilot and Cabin Crew training, in accordance with the relevant Civil Aviation Regulations
4. Ensure that the operations remain in compliance with the applicable regulations
5. Enable safe conduct of all flights
6. Ascertain that all instructors are suitably qualified to conduct training
7. Inform the Authority about the training policies, norms and standards
8. Coordinate flight safety and operational training items with the CP and instructors
9. Have training performed according to the Wizz Air flight safety policy in coordination with the Manager of Safety, Compliance and Security
10. Set the training policy in coordination with the Chief Pilot
11. In cooperation with the Chief Pilot, Chief Cabin Crew, Cabin Crew Training Manager and the instructors, set standards for flight and cabin crew to be attained in training in accordance with Regulation and the UAE Civil Aviation law
12. Ensure the availability of a sufficient number of properly qualified instructors and examiners
13. Ensure the availability of sufficient training aids, facilities and contracted courses
14. Standardize training for all Wizz Air aircraft as far as practicable, in concert with the CP
15. As line manager provide leadership to the Cabin Crew Training Manager
16. Provide oversight of any Third-Party Training organizations
17. Represent Wizz Air Abu Dhabi in relevant industry bodies
18. Ensure effective interoperability objectives within the Wizz Air Group companies

Authorities of the function:

1. The Crew Training Manager has the authority to standardize training for all Wizz Air aircraft as far as practicable, in coordination with the NP FO
2. Inform the Authority about the training policies, norms and standards
3. Appoint and discharge training and checking personnel
4. Temporarily revoke crew member qualifications, pending re-qualification or investigation into the crew member not-proficient
5. Extend or amend the training plan of a trainee in accordance with OM part D.

Requirements:

1. Fluent in English (written and spoken)
2. Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification
3. Minimum 2 years of experience in management and 5 years of experience in Aviation (low-cost airline environment is advantageous)
4. Valid Flight Crew Licence with the appropriate type-rating(s) for Wizz Air Abu Dhabi operations
5. Instructor Certificate and/or Examiner Authorization relevant to the required type-rating
6. Previous managerial experience in Commercial Air Transport (preferred)
7. Eligibility and acceptance by the UAE Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA)
