The Risk Governance and Risk Policy team is primarily responsible for supporting the GCRO on:
- The end-to-end risk management and governance for Risk Committees and other governing bodies.
- Policy Management, regulatory governance programmes, and special projects and initiatives.
- Providing independent oversight and assurance on the Credit Risk Management Framework.
Key Accountabilities of the role:
- Assist the Head of Credit Risk Review in managing the Credit Risk Review Programme, which assesses the Credit Risk Management Framework, monitors the quality of credit portfolios, and evaluates adherence to policies, procedures, and legal/regulatory requirements.
- Support the development of Credit Risk Review objectives and establish relevant policies and procedures.
- Assist with the development and execution of the annual plan for Credit Risk Review, including monitoring progress and making adjustments as needed.
- Conduct continuous monitoring of credit portfolios, communicate findings to senior management and the Board.
- Participate in credit risk reviews to assess the application of policies and procedures.
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of borrowers and the acceptability of internal ratings and credit exposures.
- Monitor adherence to documentation, limits, risk mitigants, and collateral management.
- Verify the completeness of credit files and ensure exams are conducted per policies.
- Prepare work papers, document findings, and provide feedback to auditees.
- Contribute to improving Credit Risk Review tools and methodologies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Experience across sectors/products such as corporates, financial institutions, real estate, leasing, structured finance, and retail lending.
- Knowledge of risk and credit risk management frameworks.
- Understanding of review/audit concepts and credit documentation.
- Ability to articulate credit review opinions clearly.
- UAE work experience of at least 2 years.
- Familiarity with the CB UAE regulatory regime.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
