Job description

The Credit Analyst Role involves reviewing and analyzing customers' Credit Applications, Availments, and SFCAs. The role includes checking documents, verifying the authenticity of financial statements, conducting financial and non-financial analyses for Credit Proposals in accordance with bank policies, and recommending financing packages that meet customer requirements and capabilities.

Key Accountabilities of the Role

Responsibilities:

  • Review credit applications of companies to ensure consistency with credit programs, TM RAC, bank policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Approve credit proposals up to a designated limit or recommend proposals for higher approval levels.
  • Make credit decisions (approve, decline, conditional) or provide recommendations and value-added analysis.
  • Contribute to achieving departmental objectives, goals, and policies.
  • Provide timely reports to SME Risk Head regarding any discrepancies or negative indicators.
  • Work closely with the business in a consultative manner to ensure effective implementation of credit procedures and policies.
  • Collaborate with the business to ensure receipt of complete documentation for review and analysis.
  • Conduct site visits when necessary to evaluate management quality, operations, and creditworthiness.
  • Highlight risk factors and mitigation strategies in each credit application.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager.

Results Required:

  • Minimize errors during application review.
  • Ensure turnaround time (TAT) aligns with SLA with the business.
  • Ensure no regulatory issues arise from reviewed cases.
  • Attend and pass prescribed training courses.
  • Maintain satisfactory internal and external audit ratings.

Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required:

  • Excellent judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Initiative, analytical skills, and risk evaluation/mitigation capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Proficiency in English; Arabic is a plus.
