Job description

Role : Credit Manager

Location : Dubai

Role Purpose:

The role includes reviewing and analyzing customers' credit applications, availments, and SFCAs. Check documents and the genuineness of financial statements, conduct financial and non-financial analysis for credit proposals in accordance with bank policies, and recommend financing packages that meet customer requirements and capabilities.

Key Accountabilities of the role

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Review credit applications of companies to ensure they are consistent with credit programs, TM RAC, bank policies, and regulations.
  2. Approve credit proposals up to the designated limit or recommend proposals to the upper approval limit.
  3. Provide satisfactory credit decisions (approve, decline, conditional), recommendations, and add value to credit proposal analysis.
  4. Contribute to achieving department objectives, goals, and policies.
  5. Provide timely reports to SME Risk Head regarding discrepancies or negative indicators.
  6. Work closely with the business in a consultative and proactive manner to ensure effective implementation of credit procedures and policies, and meet desired standards.
  7. Collaborate with the business to ensure receipt of complete documentation for review and analysis of credit applications.
  8. Conduct site visits when needed to evaluate management quality, operations, and creditworthiness.
  9. Highlight risk factors and mitigation strategies in each credit application.
  10. Perform any other assignments as directed by the line manager.

Results Required:

  1. Minimize errors during application review.
  2. Ensure turnaround time (TAT) aligns with SLA with the business.
  3. Undertake proper due diligence for processing and recommending credit proposals.
  4. Ensure no regulatory issues with reviewed cases.
  5. Attend and pass prescribed training courses.
  6. Maintain satisfactory internal and external audit ratings.

Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required:

  • Excellent judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Initiative, analytical skills, and risk evaluation/mitigation capabilities.
  • Good analytical and technical skills.
  • English language proficiency; Arabic is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
