Job Description

The Role

RAK Academy, Secondary Khuzam, is seeking a positive, driven, and inspirational Cover Assistant to join their team.

  1. Supervise pre-prepared activities and self-directed learning in the absence of the teacher to ensure continuity of learning.
  2. Support and encourage students, manage classroom organization during cover lessons.
  3. Manage student behavior by implementing school policies and encouraging responsibility.
  4. Collect and return completed work appropriately.
  5. Record student attendance and punctuality using iSAMs.
  6. Establish respectful, trusting relationships with students through effective communication.
  7. Communicate lesson tasks as set out by the teacher.
  8. Report on class behavior using the agreed referral procedures.
  9. Commit to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults, raising concerns as needed.
  10. Maintain accurate records and provide up-to-date information for SIMS.
  11. Follow health and safety responsibilities and policies.
  12. Comply with data protection, information security, and confidentiality policies.
  13. Proficiency in English is required.
  14. At least 2 years of experience working with children.
  15. Knowledge of iSAMs Management Information System.
  16. Flexible and can-do attitude.
  17. Commitment to the school's values and ethos.
  18. Bachelor's degree or high school certification.
  19. Experience with Google Suite, e.g., Google Classroom, is an advantage.
