Job description

Our client is a global logistics provider specializing in air freight and ocean freight services. With a strong presence in APAC and a commitment to excellence, they are expanding their operations in the UAE and are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Country Head & Commercial Lead to drive growth in the region.

Position Overview:

The Country Head & Commercial Lead will be responsible for leading sales efforts, developing new business opportunities, and driving revenue growth in the logistics sector. This role also involves leading operational teams for both Ocean Freight and Air Freight services. Candidates should have a deep understanding of both sectors, strong import/export capabilities, and the ability to build and nurture client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Sales Hunting: Proactively identify and target potential clients in the logistics and shipping industry, including importers, exporters, and logistics managers.
  2. Market Analysis: Conduct market research to understand the competitive landscape, industry trends, and customer needs in the UAE's logistics and freight market.
  3. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored logistics solutions.
  4. New Business Development: Develop and implement strategic plans to acquire new customers and expand the company's footprint in the UAE, focusing on both air and ocean freight services.
  5. Import and Export Expertise: Utilize your knowledge of import/export regulations, customs procedures, and international trade to guide clients through the logistics process.
  6. Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms and favorable outcomes.
  7. Sales Team Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to achieve sales targets.
  8. Revenue Growth: Develop and execute strategies to meet and exceed revenue and profitability goals for the UAE market.
  9. Reporting and Forecasting: Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management, keeping them informed of progress and market developments.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Proven success in business development and sales within the logistics industry.
  • Strong knowledge of air freight and ocean freight operations, import/export regulations, and international trade practices.
  • Deep understanding of the regional logistics market.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage a sales team.
  • Results-oriented mindset focused on achieving and surpassing sales targets.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
