Job summary

A leading firm in the commodities trading sector is seeking a Credit Risk Analyst to conduct assessments of creditworthiness and manage exposures effectively. With a strong focus on financial statement analysis and collaboration across teams, the ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of commodity markets and relevant experience in credit risk analysis. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in a related field and additional qualifications such as CFA or MBA will be prioritized in this dynamic role.

Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of experience in credit risk analysis within a commodities trading environment.
  • Strong understanding of commodity markets (oil & gas, metals, agriculture) and associated risks.
  • Familiarity with ISDA / CSA, GMRA, and other trading documentation is advantageous.

Job description

  • Conduct detailed credit assessments of new and existing counterparties, including corporates, trading houses, and financial institutions.
  • Analyze financial statements, market data, and industry trends to determine creditworthiness and assign internal credit ratings.
  • Recommend credit limits and terms in line with the company's risk appetite and policies.
  • Monitor exposures and ensure compliance with approved credit limits.
  • Collaborate with front office, legal, operations, and compliance teams to structure transactions and mitigate credit risk.
  • Prepare and present credit memos and risk reports to senior management and credit committees, and support the development and enhancement of credit risk policies, procedures, and systems.

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; CFA or MBA is a plus.
  • Minimally 4-6 years of experience in credit risk analysis within a commodities trading environment.
  • Strong understanding of commodity markets (oil & gas, metals, agriculture) and associated risks.
  • Proficiency in financial statement analysis, credit modeling, and risk assessment tools.
  • Familiarity with ISDA / CSA, GMRA, and other trading documentation is advantageous.
