  • Track estimate performance versus actuals

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Develop Comprehensive Cost Estimates Prepare detailed cost estimates across all project phases from conceptual design through detailed engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Analyze Project Scope and Documentation Review engineering drawings, project specifications, bill of quantities (BOQs), and scope definitions to ensure accurate cost projections.
  • Maintain and Update Cost Databases Keep internal cost estimation tools and databases current with market prices, historical data, and vendor rates for materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate and up-to-date pricing; verify commercial and technical compliance of cost inputs.
  • Integrate Estimation with Project Planning Work closely with planning teams to align cost estimates with schedule information, identifying risks and cost-time trade-offs.
  • Support Change Management Analyze the cost impacts of design modifications and scope changes; contribute to cost variation proposals and change order documentation.
  • Risk and Contingency Evaluation Assist in identifying cost-related risks and uncertainties, and help develop contingency strategies and cost buffers accordingly.
  • Participate in Tendering and Bid Processes Support bid preparation by compiling pricing information, cost breakdowns, and narrative justifications for client submissions.
  • Reporting and Documentation Prepare accurate and transparent estimate reports, cost summaries, and variance analyses for internal reviews and management presentations.
  • Benchmarking and Lessons Learned Capture post-project cost performance data to enhance future estimate accuracy and refine cost models.

  • Advance cost estimating practices by sharing lessons learned and applying continuous improvement to tools, methods, and accuracy tracking.
  • 3 5 years of experience in cost estimating within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial sectors. Experience with FEED, EPC, and shutdown/maintenance projects is highly desirable.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • AACE certifications such as Certified Estimating Professional (CEP)
  • PMP or other project management credentials are a plus
