A leading consulting service is seeking a Cost Estimation Engineer based in Abu Dhabi. The role involves extensive cost analysis and management for projects in the oil and gas sector, requiring strong analytical skills, relevant experience, and a degree in engineering. This 24-month contract offers the chance to work on significant projects within a dynamic team, ensuring financial resources are effectively planned and monitored throughout project execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Engineering from a reputed university.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, 5+ years in cost estimation in oil and gas.
  • Preferable UAE experience.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate expected costs of projects including materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Prepare cost proposals and monitor actual costs versus budgets.
  • Assist procurement team with cost data and vendor evaluations.

Qualification and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from reputed university.
  • Master degree or MBA and UAE experience will be given preference.
  • Relevant Experience (7+ Years) Minimum years
  • Minimum 5+ years of Cost Estimation & Cost Controls experience, in the oil and gas industry is required

Services Description

  • Cost Estimation & Analysis Involves calculating the expected costs of a project, including materials, labour, equipment, and overhead.
  • Measuring and listing all the materials and labour quantities required for a project, based on drawings and specifications.
  • planning the overall financial resources of a project and assigning costs to different parts of the project and tracking them throughout the execution phase
  • Preparing cost proposals and bids for submission to clients or for internal approvals with includes pricing, BOQs, technical documentation, and compliance with RFT.
  • Monitoring actual costs vs. the budget, while forecasting involves predicting future costs based on current progress and trends.
  • Improve value by analysing functions and finding cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality or performance
  • Assisting in preparing contract documents and supporting the procurement team with cost data and technical evaluations of vendors/suppliers
  • Strong Analytical & Communication Skills
  • Break down complex cost data, identify trends, and solve budgeting or estimation problems.
  • Explain estimates, defend budgets, and collaborate with engineers, vendors, and clients effectively.
