Job summary

Penspen is seeking a highly experienced Junior Cost Engineer with a strong background in the oil and gas industry to oversee procurement activities and ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials to meet project schedules.

The role focuses on monitoring costs, producing performance reports, and supporting cost forecasts within EPC projects, collaborating across engineering, procurement, construction, and finance teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 5+ years of procurement and expediting experience in oil & gas, preferably with EPC contractors or operators.
• 3+ years of EPC Experience is Mandatory.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong knowledge of vendor management.
• Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor actual costs against project budgets.
• Prepare weekly and monthly cost reports.
• Track purchase orders, invoices, commitments, and accruals.
• Assist with cost forecasts and cash-flow updates.
• Identify and report cost variances.
• Maintain cost and change-control records.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and finance teams.
