Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for cost analysis and workshop operations? We are seeking a dedicated Cost Clerk to oversee and enhance the efficiency of our service department. In this pivotal role, you will manage workflow distribution, estimate job costs, and ensure timely invoicing, all while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate labor lines in service orders, splitting them into distinct jobs and allocating sub-orders.
  • Estimate the time required for each task and assign them to technicians based on their capabilities.
  • Calculate job costs post-completion and prepare timely invoices and estimates.
  • Raise proforma invoices for cash and contract periodic service orders, verifying consumable charges.
  • Amend computer job cards and invoices to expedite workflow.
  • Accurately check invoices and related documents against system records.
  • Arrange daily workshop performance reports and prepare incentive computations and claim forms.
  • Enter relevant data into the system and provide regular updates to service advisors.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Report any technical problems or safety-related issues to the Master Technician.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Service Manager.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or Diploma in any discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a similar role within the automotive industry.
  • Skills: Proficiency in workflow management, job costing, and invoicing. Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with telephone and computer systems.
  • Attributes: Attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
