Job Purpose:
To independently manage a portfolio of credit relationships in accordance with the set revenue and risk objectives. To market new borrowing relationships in line with the stated credit appetite of the bank. To act as an independent contact with internal / external customers so as to enhance customer satisfaction
Duties and responsibilities:
- Revenue: Anticipate borrowing needs & sell products (in consultation with line manager) to best suit client needs. Monitor and ensure that utilization of the credit facilities are at least at par with competition. Constantly strive to enhance our wallet share of customer business. Broad-base all satisfactory relationships into multi-product users. Continuously identify new opportunities and book at least 4 new relationships every year.
- Risk: Conduct a financial analysis (at least annually) of the credit risk based on audited / in house financials. Keep abreast of market developments which impact customer risk and make recommendations for suitable changes to exposure strategy.
- Review/Discuss/Follow-up/Action on excesses, past-dues & other irregularities for regularization.
- Identify/Discuss/Escalate early warning signals in the portfolio.
- Administrative: Regular customer contact followed by visit to office/factory/warehouse to review/get updates on borrowers business, to canvass/identify new business opportunities & risk assessment (at least 1 documented call report per quarter).
- Timely submission of renewal CA (2 months prior to expiry).
- Timely and appropriate correspondence with clients (all client correspondence must be responded to within 2 working days or escalated).
- Review credit maturity profiles so as to ensure due date settlement.
- Maintain & update credit files.
- Evaluate/Recommend/Approve transaction tickets (TT)
- Timely completion and perfection of Security Documentation and follow up to ensure ongoing compliance as per approved terms and conditions
- Compliance with Bank Policy, & department procedure guidelines
- Interaction with other departments within the bank to effectively and efficiently deliver products and services to clients
- Prepare annual budgets for the portfolio in line with agreed strategy.
- Review meetings with line manager to objectively access the performance on Operating Income, Funded Assets & Deposits vis-à-vis budgeted numbers.
- Ensure all documentation is perfected within 60 days from the Limit Advice. In the event of delays ensure deferral approvals are obtained.
- Timely testing of covenant compliance and escalation to credit either-way i.e. complied or failed.
- A good knowledge of products and procedures of major departments i.e. Trade Finance, Operations, Treasury, Credit etc.
- Ongoing dialogue to seek in-puts in structuring products, identifying and managing risks in the best interest of the bank
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree related to a business field such as Accounting, Commerce and Economics.
- MBA | CA | ACCA | CFA | CAIIB | preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 5-6 years banking experience in relationship management. Knowledge of corporate banking products and UAE market knowledge is preferable
