Reporting into the Head of PR, the Senior Corporate Account Executive plays a lead role in the hands-on delivery of and PR services to a portfolio of clients. Responsibilities include:

  • Develops creative and results-driven PR plans aligned with client briefs and objectives.
  • Builds leadership capabilities to independently manage client portfolios from start to finish.
  • Serves as the primary strategic PR advisor for assigned clients, offering guidance, issue resolution, and exceptional service.
  • Crafts innovative, insight-led campaigns tailored to client industries and communications goals.
  • Sets clear project plans, manages timelines independently, and effectively prioritizes tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Produces high-quality written materials, including media releases, pitch notes, and interview briefings.
  • Builds and nurtures strong relationships with media, influencers, and key content creators; hosts media interactions when appropriate.
  • Acts as a key liaison between internal teams and clients, co-leading meetings and maintaining consistent communication.
  • Coordinates interviews and editorial meetings with key journalists, supporting client spokespeople throughout the process.
  • Proactively pitches stories and content ideas across all media formats — print, digital, and broadcast.
  • Cultivates a network of relevant influencers to amplify campaigns and client visibility.
  • Tracks media coverage and prepares detailed performance reports for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Measures and evaluates campaign outcomes, delivering meaningful insights and results analysis.
  • Supports planning and execution of client events, ensuring flawless delivery and hands-on assistance.
  • Maintains a high standard of responsiveness and professionalism in all client interactions.
  • Identifies upselling opportunities and contributes to business development through market research and lead generation.
  • Expands knowledge of client contracts, invoicing processes, and internal reporting systems.
  • Contributes to ideation sessions and pitch development to generate fresh, impactful ideas for prospective clients.
  • Actively participates in Qcademy and other learning initiatives to enhance professional development.
  • Keeps abreast of industry trends to ensure Q and its clients remain ahead in the regional communications landscape.

Who you are:

Ideally you will have:

  • A recognised tertiary qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or Digital Marketing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Deep understanding of the local media landscape, with proven experience navigating it effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams and delivering outstanding client service.
  • Well-established network of local media contacts, including journalists, influencers, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with various social media platforms.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, media, colleagues, and other stakeholders and leverage these connections to support business and client goals.
  • Excellent client service skills with the ability to lead teams in delivering high-quality work and strategic outcomes.
  • Solid project management capabilities, with a strong track record of delivering on time, within budget, and to client expectations.
  • Self-starter with the ability to operate independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • A balanced combination of creative thinking and commercial insight.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy and delivery.
  • Strong resilience and the ability to model this positively for junior team members.
