The Corporate Legal Counsel (Subsidiaries) is a key leader in our Legal team. Oversee the commercial legal strategy for our subsidiaries worldwide.
Be responsible for partnering with our commercial, finance and business development teams to develop and deliver efficient, scalable approaches to commercial matters. Work in close coordination with the Head of Commercial Affairs and be an essential part of the success of our subsidiaries. Have a dotted line management responsibility to a team of legal counsels placed in several countries and responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts with Besins customers, business partners, and vendors around the world. Assist your colleagues in ensuring that corporate documentation is kept current and you will also ensure that the vision initiated by HQ is translated into the regions within the legal teams. * Lead and develop a team of legal counsels across multiple countries
* Manage the commercial legal function, including KPIs and budget oversight
* Drive process automation and implement legal technology solutions
* Oversee commercial legal projects related to product launches and strategic partnerships
* Support subsidiaries without assigned legal counsels in regional corporate or commercial matters
* Partner with sales, marketing, finance and business development teams
* Ensure centralization of corporate documents at headquarters
* Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts
* Master's degree in Law with admission to the bar (civil or common law jurisdiction)
* 10+ years of legal experience, including 5-6+ years in-house at a pharmaceutical company
* Proven experience in M&A, licensing, business development deals in various markets.
* Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical/commercial regulations in EU, ASPAC, and Middle Eastern markets
* Expertise in distribution laws, marketing compliance
* Experience with legal technology platforms (CLM tools) and process optimization
* Track record of managing global teams and operations
* Fluent English required; additional European or Asian languages advantageous
* Collaborative leader who can execute tactical strategies while supporting the General Counsel's vision
* Strong operational focus with excellent project management skills
* Ability to navigate diverse cultural environments and build consensus across stakeholders
* Experience in change management and digital transformation
* Demonstrated success in developing high-performing legal teams
