Job description

Responsible for managing, monitoring, controlling, and analysing all external and internal communications with the media and stakeholders. Lead and develop a comprehensive corporate communications strategy that effectively promotes and enhances the organization's brand, reputation, and stakeholder engagement. The Head of Corporate Communications will drive the alignment of internal and external messaging, oversee media relations, manage crisis communications, and ensure consistent, impactful communication that supports the organization’s strategic goals and fosters a positive public image.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic

  • Responsible for the daily communications activities of the department and the business.
  • Manage corporate identity and brand reputation of Keolis MHI, PTA, and partners.
  • Manage external communications with media such as press releases and social media.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with RTA (Rail Agency, Marketing and Corporate Communications, support services, corporate governance, etc.) and other local and federal government departments as necessary and in relation to contractual obligations.

Financial

  • If applicable: Develop, oversee, and manage the corporate communications budget for Keolis MHI, ensuring efficient allocation of resources. Monitor expenses, forecast financial needs, and report on budget performance.
  • Support the company in preserving and enhancing its business performance.
  • Analyze communication results to determine cost-effectiveness annually against agency costs.

Stakeholder / Customer

  • Provide the Department Director, MD, and PTA with regular reports and proactive updates on department strategies, plans, and business continuity.
  • Support the business, clients (RTA), and partners in understanding passenger travel patterns to plan and organize effective communication campaigns through targeted social media initiatives.

Operational

  • Write press releases, speeches, and prepare media-related materials.
  • Coordinate with media agencies for stories; create media schedules and conduct media training when necessary.
  • Implement social media guidelines, policies, and procedures to control communication activities.
  • Ensure timely execution of communication activities for marketing campaigns, events, and exhibitions.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and opportunities in media and communication planning.
  • Manage and attend delegations for customers and corporate visits.
  • Implement effective Corporate Social Responsibility activities in the community.
  • Conduct performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and manage grievances within the Communications team.
  • Perform other duties as directed by senior management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Qualification in Business, Advertising, Media, Business Administration, or related field; postgraduate preferred.
  • Qualification in Media Relations is desirable.

Experience

  • 5 to 10 years of experience as a Communications Specialist in large organizations, preferably in public transportation.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate communications procedures.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Experience in the public transportation sector preferred.
  • Regional and UAE experience preferred.

Skills / Training

  • Fluent in English (spoken & written).
  • Fluent in English and Arabic (spoken & written) is desirable.
