Role Summary
The Core Store Technician performs daily core handling activities, inventory management, sample preparation, and maintenance of core store facilities and equipment. The role ensures accurate cataloguing, safe handling, and timely dispatch of core materials and samples while supporting ADNOC Onshore operational and study requirements.
What You'll Do
- Prepare inventory for core materials and fluid samples
- Load, receive, register, catalogue, and store core materials in rack systems
- Retrieve, lay out, and lay down core materials for ADNOC Onshore teams, HQ, contractors, and partners
- Drill, trim, and prepare plug samples using core plugging and blabbing machines
- Prepare slabbed cores, rewrite depth intervals, and store samples in designated trays and racks
- Update core inventory records and databases using computer systems
- Arrange transfer and dispatch of cores, plug samples, slabbed cores, thin sections, and cutting samples to laboratories
- Capture and quality-check digital photographs of slabbed cores and ensure correct labelling
- Perform routine maintenance of the core store and equipment and report repair needs to supervisors
- Maintain tools, safety gear, and equipment in safe and working condition
- Provide on-the-job training in line with competency-based training programs
- Support time management by completing tasks within assigned standards and requesting additional resources when needed
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in processes, equipment, and operating procedures
- Comply with HSE policies, sustainability guidelines, and ADNOC codes of practice
- Participate in emergency response duties as required
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards before, during, and after tasks
- Collect technical data and support preparation of progress reports, method statements, and near-miss reports
Ideal Profile
- Technical Diploma or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate
- Minimum 4 years of experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry
- Ability to operate machinery safely and effectively
- Computer literacy for inventory and record management
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
