Job description

You will support a global cloud-based infrastructure buildout for the web3 lab in a hands-on DevOps role. Managing requirements from the business development and research engineering team, you can expect to implement best-in-class connectivity to the largest crypto currency exchanges, architect and maintain performant data research infrastructure, and support the software development lifecycle across the team from build to deployment. You will also have the chance to provide hands-on support and drive change across the wider engineering team, helping to enforce best practices and enable high quality output.

Responsibilities

1. Architect and deploy globally distributed, fault-tolerant solutions to a variety of AWS services, ensuring team members can securely access service and network resources.
2. Support project and operational teams through the adoption of GitOps, continuous delivery pipelines, and DevSecOps security capabilities.
3. Infrastructure investigation and optimisation to support highest quality data channels.
4. Manage and maintain distributed compute through configuration, hardening, and patching.
5. Systematic monitoring of distributed and varied infrastructure.
6. Suggest and implement automations, services, and features that improve overall organization efficiency.
7. Rapidly deploy lean software and iteratively support, extend, and elevate to production-grade systems.
8. Provide support to the engineering team at large, encouraging best practice across the SDLC.

Requirements

1. Expert knowledge of AWS (multi-region, multi-account administration).
2. Deep understanding of Linux / Unix-like operating systems.
3. Experience implementing and maintaining CI / CD pipelines.
4. Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
5. Intimate experience with container orchestration systems and underlying technologies (K8s, Docker, containerd).
6. Adherence to distributed cloud computing principles (networking, observability, high availability, reproducible and composable systems).
7. Experience working with zero-trust security models and implementing modern security best practices within an AWS operating environment.
8. Demonstrated ability to work in a global team environment.

Desired Qualifications

1. Strong academics in Computer Science or Software Engineering from a top-tier university.
2. Background in development / engineering.
3. Working knowledge configuring VPNs and site-to-site network access patterns.
4. Working knowledge or interest in web3 technologies and their applications.
