Job description

Our growing finance team, based in the Dubai office, consists of skilled and professional colleagues of both accountants and controllers and is responsible for various tasks such as financial costing, budgeting, controlling, VAT filing, complying with regulations, and monthly reporting for Middle East and Africa entities aligned with Monjasa Group functions across the globe.

As our new Controller, you will handle financial controlling, work with the local esteemed finance team, and have the opportunity to build a strong network and collaborate globally. You will report to the Finance Director, overseeing financial operations in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

Furthermore, it s critical that you thrive working in a fast-paced and diverse environment, understand the significance of completing deadlines and accuracy, and set communication and mutual respect as the key values of teamwork.

Areas of focus

  • Perform controlling and reviewing
  • Monthly and annual closing of numbers
  • Participate in cross-functional projects.
  • Estimate as per the required timeline.
  • Preparation of forecasts and budgets.
  • Data and cost control.
  • Ensuring legal and regulatory financial compliance
  • Audit co-ordination and finalization
  • Tax control, including VAT fillings
  • Derivatives as well as contract management (financial contracts) control

Your professional skills

  • Relevant financial education or a similar position and/or as an auditor
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position
  • Experience in the shipping industry is an advantage.
  • An experienced user of Microsoft Office and Microsoft NAV is a plus.
  • Fluent in both written and verbal English and any other language is a plus.
