Job summary

Agile Consultants seeks an experienced Contracts Manager for the UAE construction sector to oversee contractual matters, disputes, and negotiations. The role requires extensive UAE-based experience with FIDIC contracts and knowledge of UAE laws governing construction.

The successful candidate will manage claims, variations, tendering, and contract negotiations while coordinating with external legal advisors on complex disputes and litigation proceedings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of UAE-based experience in contracts management within the construction sector.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, claims management, and construction law.
• Solid understanding of UAE Civil, Commercial, and Labor Law as applicable to construction contracts.
• Hands-on experience with legal disputes, arbitration, and court/litigation proceedings, including handling cases, liaising with legal counsel, and representing the company in claims or litigation.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee contracts throughout the project lifecycle within the construction sector.
• Review, interpret, and administer construction contracts, including FIDIC-based contracts.
• Manage contractual claims, variations, extensions, and other contractual matters.
• Handle tendering activities and support the review and negotiation of contractual terms and conditions.
• Lead and support contract negotiations with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Identify contractual risks and provide appropriate recommendations to protect the company's commercial and contractual interests.
• Manage claims and dispute resolution processes in accordance with contractual requirements and applicable UAE laws.
• Coordinate with external legal advisors and law firms on contractual, legal, dispute, arbitration, and litigation matters.
