Black & Grey HR Consultancy FZE seeks a Contract Engineer to join our client's offshore and subsea operations team in Abu Dhabi on a permanent basis. You will manage, administer and oversee all contractual aspects of assigned projects, ensuring compliance with terms and minimizing risks throughout the lifecycle.

The role requires 10+ years of experience in contract administration on large EPC projects, with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in contract administration and commercial management on large EPC projects.
• Professional certifications (e.g., MRICS, PMP, CCM) are an advantage.
• Experience managed over USD 200 million+ annual budgeted contracts.

Responsibilities

• Manage and administer project contracts (e.g., EPC, Survey, Subsea, CPA contracts).
• Prepare, evaluate and approve/reject contractor claims, variations, and change orders; assess EOT claims and cost impacts.
• Review interim payment applications and final accounts; ensure measurement, valuation, and certification of works.
• Maintain contract documentation, prepare regular contractual and commercial reports for the client.
• Coordinate with project managers, planning, cost engineers and risk teams; act as contractual interface between client, contractors, and consultants.

Black & Grey HR is seeking a Contract Engineer to join our client's offshore and subsea operations team on a permanent basis in Abu Dhabi. You will be responsible for managing, administering and overseeing all contractual aspects ofassigned projects - post‑award contract obligations.The role ensures that contracts are executed inaccordance with agreed terms, project requirements, and applicable contractual clauses, while minimizingcommercial and contractual risks throughout the project lifecycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Contract Administration

• Manage and administer project contracts (e.g., EPC,Survey, Subsea, CPA contracts).
• Ensure compliance with contract terms, conditions.
• Interpret contract clauses and provide guidance to theproject team and client.

Claims Management

• Prepare, evaluate and recommend approval/rejection ofcontractor claims, variations, and change orders.
• Prepare and assess Extension of Time (EOT) claims andassociated cost impacts.
• Identify potential contractual risks and advise mitigationstrategies.
• Support dispute resolution, negotiations, and settlementof claims

Cost & Payment Management

• Review interim payment applications and final accountssubmitted by contractors.
• Ensure accurate measurement, valuation, andcertification of works.
• Monitor cost performance against contract budgets andapprove variations & support Cost/Planning Engineers.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare regular contractual and commercial reports forthe Client.
• Maintain proper records of correspondence, variations,claims and approvals.
• Ensure contract documentation is complete, accurate,and auditable.

Coordination

• Work closely with project managers, planning, costengineers and risk teams.
• Provide contractual advice during project meetings andprogress reviews.
• Act as a key contractual interface between Client,contractors, and consultants.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in contract administration and commercial management on large EPC projects.
• Professional certifications (e.g., MRICS, PMP, CCM) are an advantage.
• Experience managed over USD 200 million+ Annual budgeted contracts.
• Post award Contracts experience preferred for the Assets, vessels, or equipment underresponsibility.
• Ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities.
• Periodic client/third‑party audit interactions, readiness reviews expectation.
• MS Office, SAP systems or tools or platforms.
• Strong contract interpretation and negotiation skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
