The successful candidate will oversee the entire contracting process, from drafting tender documents to post-contract administration, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This role demands strong analytical, administrative, and relationship-building skills, making it a pivotal position in the Projects Team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in EPC industry, specifically Oil & Gas.
  • Experience reviewing and assessing claims for high-value contracts.
  • GCC experience is an advantage.

Job description

We are looking for a Contracts Engineer for one of our clients with the following details :

Start Date : ASAP

Contract Duration : 2 years

Qualification and Experience Required :

  • CICPA Required
  • Experience reviewing and assessing claims for high-value complex contracts. Strong administration and organizational skills.
  • Strong planning and coordination skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong relationship and influencing skills.
  • Proven track record in delivering high-quality results for high-value contracts. Experience working in large multinational corporations will be an advantage.
  • A minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in material receiving and inspection within the EPC industry, specifically in the Oil & Gas sector
  • A certification in contracts management, e.g. CPCM or its equivalent
  • GCC experience is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Fluency in English

Responsibilities

  • Working within the Company's Projects Team, conduct the full end to end contracting process from concept to close-out for high value complex contracts.
  • Actively participate in strategy formulation and drafting of contract strategies for approval.
  • Draft tender documents in collaboration with the project team members.
  • Review technical documents for inclusion within tenders and propose amendments to align with contract requirements and terminology. Assist Projects team in selecting criteria for bid evaluation.
  • Perform bid administration functions : coordinate responses and issuance of clarifications and amendments to tenders. Conduct overall review of the technical bids for completeness, follow-up with tenderers for missing documents and facilitate technical / commercial clarifications.
  • Arrange and coordinate technical evaluation of bids by Projects team members. Finalize technical evaluation submissions and obtain approval for the commercial bid opening.
  • Assist Project Controls Team as required for preparation of price comparisons and sensitivity analysis for complex price structures to obtain the best commercial option. Propose recommended bidder for award through consultation with Project Contracts / Commercial Manager.
  • Conduct day-to-day administration and management of contracts, correspondence and documents; filing- hard copy and electronic, recording and management of minutes of meeting, etc.
  • Analyze and make recommendations for the analysis of entitlement to Variations and settlement of Post contract administration of project contract and Through consultation with the Contracts Manager - Projects, advise in implementing contract requirements and interpreting contract terms.
  • Ensures that completion certificates and performance evaluations are prepared and duly signed upon completion of contracted work.
  • Obtain feedback from the projects team for implementing future improvements in contracts.
  • Champion implementation of Company safety, security, environment, and quality policies and programs in contracting
