We currently have an opportunity for an Urban Designer/Planner to work in a multidisciplinary team of designers, planners, and engineers. The fast-paced environment enables team members to work on a variety of projects. Your new role, what's involved?
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of multiple projects, often concurrently.
  • Assist in producing medium and large-scale design and production packages under supervision.
  • Participate in client presentations.
  • Adhere to project timelines and inform senior staff of potential issues affecting delivery.
  • Work within established design standards and parameters.
  • Ensure the quality of deliverables meets expectations.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary, multicultural team.
  • Coordinate technically with other WSP teams and third-party subconsultants.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
  • A postgraduate qualification in urban design, urban planning, landscape architecture, or a related field, preferably with professional affiliation or eligibility.
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in urban design, urban planning, and master planning.
  • Experience producing high-quality urban planning, design, and master planning submissions in the UAE and the wider Middle East and Africa.
  • Ability to assist in technical bid and fee proposal preparations for various projects.
  • Strong design and graphic skills, capable of communicating ideas visually through hand drawings and computer graphics.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint, MS Word, Excel, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams, including external subconsultants.
  • Strong skills in design management, report writing, and coordination.
  • An understanding of sustainability issues within the public realm, with LEED or similar experience as an advantage.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • A logical and organized approach to project delivery.
