Job summary

TalentSpoc is seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist in Dubai to provide advanced assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for a wide range of psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.

The role requires strong clinical expertise, excellent communication, and leadership in a patient-centered care model, with collaboration across a multidisciplinary team and adherence to UAE regulations.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry (MD, DNB, MRCPsych, Arab Board, or equivalent).
• Significant consultant-level psychiatry experience.
• Strong experience managing complex psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and multidisciplinary leadership skills.
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and evidence-based psychiatric care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and risk assessments.
• Diagnose and manage a broad range of psychiatric, behavioral, and emotional disorders.
• Manage conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, OCD, and other complex psychiatric conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with pharmacological and psychological interventions.
• Manage acute psychiatric presentations, including suicidal ideation and psychosis.
• Monitor treatment response, medication effects, and adverse events.
• Provide expert consultation and second opinions for complex cases.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with psychologists, therapists, social workers, and other specialists.
• Provide psychotherapy or coordinate psychological interventions within scope of training.
• Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, and relapse prevention.
• Maintain confidential clinical documentation.
• Participate in audits, quality improvement, teaching, research, and CME.

The ideal candidate should have strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a patient-centered approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including mental status examinations and risk assessments.
• Diagnose and manage a broad range of psychiatric, behavioral, and emotional disorders.
• Manage conditions including depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, OCD, and other complex psychiatric conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating pharmacological and appropriate psychological interventions.
• Manage acute psychiatric presentations, including suicidal ideation, self-harm risk, psychosis, and behavioral emergencies.
• Monitor treatment response, medication effectiveness, and potential adverse effects.
• Provide expert consultation and second opinions for complex psychiatric cases.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with psychologists, therapists, social workers, neurologists, and other medical specialists.
• Provide appropriate psychotherapy or coordinate psychological interventions within the scope of training.
• Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, and relapse prevention.
• Maintain comprehensive and confidential clinical documentation.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, teaching, research, and continuing medical education.
• Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations, ethical standards, and patient-safety requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Significant post-specialization experience with Consultant-level Psychiatry experience.
