Job summary

Astra ProMed in Dubai invites applications for a Consultant Pediatric Rheumatologist to join our multidisciplinary pediatric care team. The role focuses on diagnosing and treating inflammatory and autoimmune conditions in children, with emphasis on comprehensive assessments and individualized treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in Pediatrics and/or Pediatric Rheumatology per UAE licensing requirements.
• Fellowship or advanced training in Pediatric Rheumatology is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage pediatric rheumatologic and autoimmune conditions, including juvenile idiopathic arthritis, SLE, vasculitis and inflammatory myopathies.
• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for pediatric patients.
• Collaborate with pediatricians, orthopedic surgeons, immunologists, nephrologists and other specialists as required.
• Initiate and monitor conventional and biologic therapies per clinical guidelines.
• Provide counseling and education to parents and caregivers regarding diagnosis and treatment.

Job description

We're Hiring | Consultant Pediatric Rheumatologist

Location: Dubai

Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage pediatric rheumatologic and autoimmune conditions, including juvenile idiopathic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, vasculitis, inflammatory myopathies, and other connective tissue disorders
• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for pediatric patients
• Evaluate children presenting with unexplained joint pain, swelling, fever, rash, and other inflammatory symptoms
• Manage complex and chronic rheumatologic conditions through multidisciplinary care
• Initiate and monitor conventional and biologic therapies in accordance with clinical guidelines and patient needs
• Interpret relevant laboratory investigations and imaging studies to support diagnosis and treatment
• Monitor treatment response, disease progression, medication safety, and long-term outcomes
• Collaborate with pediatricians, orthopedic surgeons, immunologists, nephrologists, ophthalmologists, and other specialists when required
• Provide counseling and education to parents and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and ongoing disease management
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with UAE healthcare regulations and facility policies
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and teaching activities where applicable

Requirements

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from a recognized institution
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Pediatrics and/or Pediatric Rheumatology, in accordance with applicable UAE licensing requirements
• Additional fellowship or advanced training in Pediatric Rheumatology is highly desirable
• Eligible for or holding a valid DHA Consultant license/eligibility in the relevant specialty
• Demonstrated experience managing pediatric rheumatologic, autoimmune, and inflammatory conditions
• Strong clinical, diagnostic, and patient-management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with children and their families
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Commitment to patient safety, ethical practice, and continuous professional development
