Job summary

Astra ProMed in Dubai is seeking an experienced Consultant Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon to join our leading healthcare facility. You will provide comprehensive orthopedic care for infants, children and adolescents, managing congenital, developmental, traumatic and acquired musculoskeletal conditions.

The ideal candidate holds MBBS/MD with postgraduate orthopedic training and a pediatric fellowship; DHA license eligibility is preferred.

Qualifications

• MBBS/MD from a recognized institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in Orthopedic Surgery per UAE licensing.
• Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage pediatric orthopedic conditions in infants, children, and adolescents.
• Perform elective and emergency pediatric orthopedic procedures.
• Manage congenital and developmental conditions (e.g., hip dysplasia, clubfoot, limb-length discrepancies).
• Evaluate and treat pediatric fractures, sports injuries and musculoskeletal trauma.
• Provide surgical and non-surgical management of pediatric spinal, hip, knee, foot, and limb conditions.
• Conduct preoperative assessments and deliver postoperative care and rehabilitation planning.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on age, condition and functional needs.
• Collaborate with pediatricians, physiotherapists, radiologists, anesthesiologists and other professionals.
• Counsel parents about diagnosis, treatment options, risks and outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with UAE regulations.

Location: Dubai

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Consultant Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon to join a leading healthcare facility in Dubai. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive orthopedic and surgical care to infants, children, and adolescents, managing congenital, developmental, traumatic, and acquired musculoskeletal conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage pediatric orthopedic conditions in infants, children, and adolescents
• Perform elective and emergency pediatric orthopedic procedures within the scope of practice
• Manage congenital and developmental conditions, including limb deformities, developmental dysplasia of the hip, clubfoot, and limb-length discrepancies
• Evaluate and treat pediatric fractures, sports injuries, and other musculoskeletal trauma
• Provide surgical and non-surgical management of pediatric spinal, hip, knee, foot, and limb conditions
• Perform appropriate reconstructive, corrective, and minimally invasive procedures where qualified
• Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments and provide postoperative care and rehabilitation planning
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on the patient's age, condition, and functional needs
• Collaborate with pediatricians, physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals
• Provide consultations and second opinions for complex pediatric orthopedic cases
• Counsel parents and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical procedures, risks, and expected outcomes
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with UAE healthcare regulations and facility policies
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and teaching activities where applicable

Requirements

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from a recognized institution
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Orthopedic Surgery, in accordance with applicable UAE licensing requirements
• Additional fellowship or advanced training in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery is highly desirable
• Eligible for or holding a valid DHA Consultant license/eligibility in the relevant specialty
• Demonstrated experience in pediatric orthopedic diagnosis, treatment, and surgical procedures
• Strong clinical, diagnostic, surgical, and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with children and their families
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Commitment to patient safety, ethical practice, and continuous professional development
