Position Overview

Consultant Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a senior opportunity for an experienced physician specializing in musculoskeletal disorders, congenital deformities, trauma, spine conditions, limb abnormalities, and reconstructive orthopedic care in children. The selected employee will work with a leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi while the hiring and posting location remains Dubai. This role is suited for a consultant‑level pediatric orthopedic surgeon who can deliver advanced surgical and non‑surgical care for infants, children, and adolescents while supporting evidence‑based, family‑centered, and multidisciplinary treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and manage pediatric orthopedic conditions, including congenital deformities, scoliosis, hip disorders, limb abnormalities, fractures, sports injuries, neuromuscular conditions, gait abnormalities, and developmental musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Perform pediatric orthopedic surgical procedures, including trauma surgery, deformity correction, limb reconstruction, spinal procedures, fracture fixation, and reconstructive orthopedic surgery.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations for infants, children, and adolescents requiring specialist orthopedic evaluation and treatment.
  • Evaluate and manage pediatric musculoskeletal trauma, emergency orthopedic cases, acute injuries, complex fractures, and growth plate‑related conditions.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that may include surgical intervention, non‑surgical management, casting, bracing, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, pain management, and long‑term follow‑up.
  • Collaborate with pediatricians, rehabilitation specialists, neurologists, radiologists, physiotherapists, nurses, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Support pediatric rehabilitation planning to improve mobility, posture, strength, joint function, walking ability, and daily activity participation.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment options, surgical risks, postoperative care, expected recovery, rehabilitation goals, and long‑term orthopedic monitoring.
  • Review imaging studies, clinical findings, functional assessments, growth patterns, and rehabilitation progress to guide safe treatment decisions.
  • Ensure surgical care follows patient safety, infection control, consent, perioperative care, and quality improvement standards.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation, operative notes, consultation records, treatment plans, consent forms, discharge summaries, and follow‑up recommendations in compliance with DOH Abu Dhabi regulations and hospital policies.
  • Participate in clinical audits, research projects, teaching sessions, morbidity and mortality reviews, continuing medical education, and pediatric orthopedic service improvement.
  • Contribute to academic activity, case discussions, and multidisciplinary planning for complex pediatric deformity, trauma, spine, and reconstructive cases.
Ideal Profile
  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by DOH Abu Dhabi.
  • Board Certification or Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery.
  • Subspecialty training in Pediatric Orthopaedics is required.
  • Valid DOH Consultant License or DOH Eligibility Letter in Orthopaedic Surgery.
  • Minimum 5‑7 years of post‑board consultant experience in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery.
  • Experience in a tertiary care hospital, academic hospital, or advanced pediatric orthopedic center is preferred.
  • Strong expertise in pediatric orthopedic trauma, deformity correction, limb reconstruction, and reconstructive procedures.
  • Experience in pediatric spine surgery and complex deformity correction is preferred.
  • Exposure to multidisciplinary pediatric rehabilitation programs is an advantage.
  • Ability to diagnose and treat congenital deformities, scoliosis, hip disorders, limb abnormalities, fractures, sports injuries, and neuromuscular orthopedic conditions.
  • Excellent surgical, communication, leadership, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
  • Research publications, academic involvement, or teaching experience in pediatric orthopedics are an advantage.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural healthcare environment with children, families, and specialist teams.
