Job summary

Allocation Assist is seeking a Consultant Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist for a leading healthcare organization in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of children with blood disorders and cancers.

The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams, oversee chemotherapy and supportive care, and provide family-centered counseling across the patient journey.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MBBS/MD) from a recognized institution.
• Completion of specialty training in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
• DOH Abu Dhabi license or eligibility is mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years of post-board experience in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
• Fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage pediatric hematologic and oncologic conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on protocols and evidence-based practices.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, transfusion therapy, and supportive care.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams including pediatricians, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, pharmacists, nurses.
• Monitor progress and adjust management plans as required.
• Provide counseling and education to patients and families throughout diagnosis and treatment.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and technologies to optimize outcomes.
• Participate in tumor boards, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Stay updated with advancements in pediatric hematology/oncology and guidelines.
• Maintain accurate medical records compliant with DOH and hospital standards.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Consultant Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist to join a leading healthcare organization in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will provide specialized diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management for children and adolescents with hematologic disorders and pediatric cancers.

The role requires advanced clinical expertise, a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, and a strong commitment to delivering compassionate, family-centered treatment throughout the patient journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a broad range of pediatric hematologic and oncologic conditions, including leukemia, lymphoma, solid tumors, anemia, clotting disorders, and other blood diseases.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient condition, clinical protocols, and evidence-based practices.
• Administer and oversee chemotherapy, immunotherapy, transfusion therapy, and supportive care treatments.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams including pediatricians, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, pharmacists, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals.
• Monitor patient progress, treatment response, and potential complications while adjusting management plans as required.
• Provide compassionate counseling, education, and emotional support to patients and families throughout diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and medical technologies to optimize patient outcomes.
• Participate in tumor boards, departmental meetings, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Stay updated with advancements in pediatric hematology and oncology research, treatments, and clinical guidelines.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records in compliance with DOH regulations and hospital standards.
• Contribute to teaching, mentoring, and professional development of junior medical staff when applicable.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Medical Degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Completion of specialty training in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
• Must hold one of the following recognized qualifications:
  • UK Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
  • American Board Certification
  • Canadian Board Certification
• DOH Abu Dhabi License or eligibility is mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years of post-board experience in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
• Strong expertise in pediatric cancer management, hematologic disorders, and advanced treatment protocols.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Compassionate and empathetic approach toward pediatric patients and families.
• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
• Fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic is an advantage.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in bone marrow transplantation and advanced pediatric oncology treatments.
• Background in internationally accredited hospitals or tertiary healthcare centers.
• Participation in clinical research, academic teaching, or publications is highly desirable.
