Job summary

Allocation Assist Middle East is partnering with a leading Abu Dhabi hospital to recruit a Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist for its PCICU. The role focuses on advanced critical care for neonates, infants and children with congenital and acquired heart diseases, including post-operative care and complex interventional cases.

Qualifications

• Medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Board certification in Pediatric Critical Care or related field.
• Fellowship in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care required.
• 8–10 years of post-specialization experience in a high-volume pediatric cardiac center.
• Eligibility for DOH Abu Dhabi licensure is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Manage critically ill pediatric cardiac patients in the PCICU.
• Provide pre-operative stabilization and post-operative care following congenital heart surgery.
• Manage ECMO, mechanical ventilation, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
• Lead multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate with pediatric cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and specialized nursing teams.
• Interpret complex diagnostic data including echocardiography and hemodynamic studies.
• Support quality improvement initiatives, protocol development, and departmental growth.
• Mentor junior physicians and participate in teaching, research, and CME activities.
• Communicate effectively with families and provide compassionate, family-centered care.

A leading tertiary-care hospital in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to join its Pediatric Cardiac ICU team. The successful candidate will provide advanced critical care management for neonates, infants, and children with congenital and acquired heart diseases, including pre- and post-operative cardiac surgical patients and complex interventional cardiology cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage critically ill pediatric cardiac patients in the PCICU.
• Provide pre-operative stabilization and post-operative care following congenital heart surgery.

• Lead multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate individualized treatment plans.

• Medical Degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Board Certification in Pediatric Critical Care, Pediatric Cardiology, or Pediatric Anesthesiology.
• Fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care is required.
• Minimum 8-10 years of post-specialization experience in a high-volume pediatric cardiac center.
• Expertise in congenital heart disease, ECMO, and post-operative pediatric cardiac ICU care.
• Eligibility for DOH Abu Dhabi Consultant licensure is mandatory.
• Strong leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
