Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is a senior Hospital and Health Care role for an experienced pediatric cardiac critical care physician with expertise in congenital heart disease, post-operative cardiac ICU care, ECMO, mechanical ventilation, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring. This opportunity is suited for a consultant-level specialist who can lead complex PCICU care, support multidisciplinary cardiac teams, and contribute to the development of high-quality pediatric cardiac intensive care services in Dubai.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care management for pediatric cardiac patients, including neonates, infants, and children with complex cardiac conditions.
• Manage pre-operative stabilization, optimization, and risk assessment for patients undergoing congenital heart surgery or interventional cardiology procedures.
• Lead post-operative cardiac ICU care following congenital heart surgery, including monitoring, complication management, and recovery planning.
• Treat complex pediatric cardiac conditions such as heart failure, arrhythmias, cardiomyopathies, and unstable congenital heart disease.
• Oversee advanced critical care support, including ECMO, mechanical ventilation, vasoactive therapy, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
• Lead daily PCICU rounds and coordinate individualized multidisciplinary care plans for high-acuity cardiac patients.
• Interpret and manage complex diagnostic data, including echocardiography findings, hemodynamic studies, laboratory trends, and advanced imaging results.
• Provide on-call coverage for pediatric cardiac emergencies and urgent intensive care decision-making.
• Collaborate with pediatric cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, nursing teams, respiratory therapists, and other specialists.
• Contribute to the strategic development and expansion of Pediatric Cardiac ICU services, protocols, pathways, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior physicians, fellows, residents, medical students, and critical care nursing staff.
• Communicate complex clinical information clearly and compassionately to families during critical care decisions, long-term care planning, and discharge preparation.
• Participate in clinical research, audits, morbidity reviews, CME programs, institutional teaching, and conference representation.
• Promote a safe, family-centered, culturally sensitive PCICU environment focused on strong clinical outcomes.

Ideal Profile

• Medical degree such as MD, MBBS, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Board Certification in Pediatric Critical Care, Pediatric Cardiology, or Pediatric Anesthesiology with fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care.
• Minimum 8-10 years of post-specialization experience, including consultant-level practice in a high-volume cardiac center.
• Strong expertise in complex congenital heart disease, post-operative cardiac ICU care, ECMO, mechanical ventilation, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
• Eligibility for Dubai Health Authority Consultant licensure.
• Proven ability to lead daily PCICU rounds and manage high-risk pediatric cardiac patients in a tertiary-care environment.
