The Consultant - Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care will provide specialist management for critically ill pediatric patients requiring complex cardiovascular and intensive care support. The role covers preoperative stabilization, postoperative recovery following congenital heart surgery, cardiac emergencies, advanced respiratory support, ECMO, and intensive monitoring of children undergoing complex cardiac interventions. The consultant will work closely with pediatric cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusion specialists, intensivists, and specialist nurses. Strong clinical judgment and coordinated multidisciplinary decision-making will be central to improving outcomes for high-risk pediatric cardiac patients while supporting families through complex treatment pathways.
Candidates should hold an MBBS, MD, or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution. Board Certification is required in Pediatric Critical Care, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Anesthesiology, or an equivalent recognized specialty. Formal fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care is mandatory. Suitable candidates should bring at least 8-10 years of post-specialization experience gained within a high-volume pediatric cardiac center. Strong clinical experience should include:
