Job description

We are looking for a compassionate physician to provide primary care for paediatric patients suffering from injuries and common illnesses. The physician's responsibilities include diagnosing and treating injuries, illnesses, and disorders, prescribing medications, making recommendations on lifestyle changes, and answering patient's questions.

The facility located in AL AIN city, Emirates of Abu Dhabi is a five-story hospital designed to provide state of the art services to both outpatients and inpatients. There are 131 inpatient beds, which will provide inpatient rehabilitation services for patients of all ages who are recovering from a disabling illness or injury. These conditions include, but are not limited to stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, neurological disorders, amputees, orthopaedic surgeries post operatively, major multiple traumas and cancer related neurological conditions.

Our client provides advanced treatment to individuals with complex medical rehabilitation needs from the time of injury or illness through to long-term community follow-up.

Requirements:

  • Certificate of completion of specialty training (CCT, CCST, US Board, Fachartz or equivalent (Tier 1 only).
  • 2+ years experience post specialty training in a hospital based in Western Europe, North America, Canada, Australia or New Zealand.
  • Current experience as Consultant PM&R specialising in the paediatric population.
  • Current and valid registration from home country.
  • Eligibility for the Department of Health (DOH) Abu Dhabi Consultant Paediatric PM&R licence.

Responsibilities:

  • Examining patients, taking medical histories, addressing patients concerns, and answering patients questions.
  • Diagnosing and treating injuries, illnesses, and disorders.
  • Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests and explaining the results to patients.
  • Counselling patients on diet, hygiene, preventative healthcare, and other lifestyle changes.
  • Updating patient's charts and information to reflect current findings and treatments.
  • Recommending and designing treatment plans.
  • Prescribing medications or therapies.
  • Explaining medical procedures to patients.
  • Consulting with other physicians, referring patients to specialists when necessary, and working with other healthcare staff, such as nurses, assistants, and other physicians.
  • Complying with medical laws (for example, HIPAA).

Qualifications:

  • A medical degree and the successful completion of a residency and internship.
  • A state license and certification to practice medicine.
  • Knowledge and experience in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of illnesses.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Dexterity and detail oriented abilities.
  • Patience and compassion.
  • The ability and willingness to stay up to date on advancements, innovations, and developments in the field.

Contract: Full time, 2 years and renewable on mutual agreement.

Salary and benefits:

  • Salary will be based on experience.
