Job summary

NMC Healthcare seeks a qualified Neurologist to provide specialized patient care in the diagnosis and management of neurological diseases. The role involves overseeing laboratory operations, providing leadership, and ensuring quality improvement in patient service. A successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, significant experience, and proper licensure to practice in Abu Dhabi.

Qualifications

  • At least five (5) years of practice as a Neurologist.
  • Excellent command of oral and written English.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of Medical Department policies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform professional duties of a Neurologist in OPD and IP.
  • Oversee Neurodiagnostic Laboratory operations.
  • Provide on-call coverage for Neurologic emergencies.

Job description

To provide specialized services to patient for the diagnosis and management of diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system. Coordinates and monitors the neurologic care he/she provides to promote efficient and effective delivery of quality health care both in the OPD and in the IP sector.

Responsibilities
  • To perform the professional duties of a Neurologist in accordance with the delineation of privileges as approved by the Credential Committee both in the OPD and IP.
  • To oversee the operation of the Neurodiagnostic Laboratory (EEG, EMG) including the on-going training of the technicians if and when needed.
  • Provides on-call emergency coverage for Neurologic emergencies.
  • Participates in the monthly educational conferences.
  • Supports Continuous Quality Improvement. Develops and promotes appropriate standards of care.
  • Exercises effective interpersonal skills in dealings with department staff, with associates and with Management.
  • Evidences leadership skills in developing in others the willingness and desire to work toward common objectives.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding patient information and regarding administrative matters of a confidential nature.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an approved medical school plus one year of internship and three years of residency; certification by the American Board of Neurology or Member of the Royal College of Neurology (or its equivalent).
  • At least five (5) years of practice as a Neurologist.
  • Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
  • Must be highly skilled in the particular field of practice, with mature clinical judgment and ability to provide professional leadership. He / she must have a thorough knowledge of Medical Department policies and procedures with particular reference to the obligation to maintain the confidentiality of his work; personality which inspires confidence and trust in his patients; and adhere to Bylaws, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Organization.
  • Current licensure in country of origin and with HAAD license to practice Neurology as a specialist in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, superiors, patients & families.
