Consultant General Surgeon in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a senior Hospital and Health Care opportunity for an experienced Arabic-speaking surgical consultant with strong expertise in elective and emergency general surgery, patient assessment, operative care, and multidisciplinary surgical management. This role is ideal for a board-certified surgeon who can deliver safe surgical outcomes, communicate effectively with Arabic-speaking patients, and contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, and junior doctor development.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a broad range of general surgical procedures, including elective and emergency operations, while maintaining high standards of patient safety and surgical quality.
• Evaluate patients, diagnose surgical conditions, review investigations, and develop appropriate medical or surgical treatment plans.
• Lead preoperative preparation, risk assessment, surgical decision-making, and patient consent discussions in a clear and culturally sensitive manner.
• Manage postoperative care in collaboration with nurses, anesthesiologists, allied health professionals, and other clinical teams.
• Provide consultant-level input for emergency surgical cases, acute abdominal conditions, soft tissue concerns, hernia cases, gastrointestinal presentations, and other general surgery needs.
• Maintain detailed and accurate medical records, operative notes, progress reports, discharge summaries, and follow-up documentation in line with hospital standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth patient pathways from consultation through surgery, recovery, and long-term follow-up.
• Participate in surgical audits, morbidity and mortality reviews, clinical governance work, patient safety programs, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior surgeons, residents, and clinical staff through case discussions, operative guidance, CME activities, and professional supervision.
• Communicate effectively in Arabic and English with patients, families, and healthcare teams to support trust, clarity, and informed care decisions.

Ideal Profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree with completed specialty training in General Surgery.
• Recognized board certification such as UK CCT, American Board, Arab Board, or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of post-specialty experience, including consultant-level surgical responsibility.
• Fluency in Arabic and English is required.
• Eligible for UAE healthcare consultant licensing.
• Strong surgical judgment across elective and emergency general surgery cases.
• Proven ability to provide patient-centered care in a multicultural and multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
• Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Experience supporting women’s health-related surgical needs is an advantage.
