Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive fetal medicine care for high‑risk pregnancies, suspected fetal abnormalities, and complex maternal‑fetal cases.
• Perform advanced fetal assessments, including anomaly scans, fetal echocardiography, Doppler studies, and prenatal diagnostic reviews.
• Support genetic testing pathways and coordinate results with obstetricians, geneticists, neonatologists, and other specialist teams.
• Develop individualized management plans for mothers and babies in collaboration with maternal‑fetal medicine and multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Perform prenatal interventions such as fetal blood sampling, intrauterine transfusions, fetal shunt placement, and other clinically indicated procedures.
• Counsel patients and families with clarity, sensitivity, and compassion regarding fetal diagnoses, prognosis, treatment options, and expected outcomes.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure effective communication with patients, referring physicians, and internal care teams.
• Stay updated on new developments in fetal medicine, prenatal imaging, fetal therapy, and maternal‑fetal care.
• Participate in departmental meetings, clinical governance, quality improvement programs, and patient safety initiatives.
• Support research, publications, academic activities, and training for junior doctors, sonographers, nurses, and allied health staff.

Ideal Profile

• Medical degree such as MBBS, MD, or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Recognized specialist qualification or advanced training in Fetal Medicine.
• Minimum 5 years of post‑qualification experience in fetal medicine, preferably within a tertiary hospital or specialized fetal medicine unit.
• Proven expertise in advanced fetal imaging, prenatal diagnostics, fetal assessment, and fetal intervention procedures.
• Strong clinical judgment in high‑risk pregnancy care and complex fetal condition management.
