Job description

Responsibilities

  1. Provide patient-focused Critical Care Medicine and ensure optimal clinical care of patients in the department in line with the clinical privileges granted.
  2. Work within a multidisciplinary team with a personalized and caring attitude.
  3. Provide leadership supervision and support to junior clinical staff. Help develop and participate in a postgraduate training program for all clinical staff.
  4. Develop, implement, and revise the department's scope of services.
  5. Perform Foley Catheter insertion and removal.
  6. Perform peripheral intravenous access and removal.
  7. Perform nasogastric tube insertion and removal.
  8. Interpret Cardiac Telemetry/EKG rhythms.
  9. Have operational responsibility for the identification of resources required for the department and the effective utilization of said resources within budgetary guidelines.
  10. Understand and comply with the principles of clinical governance, specifically:
  11. Lead quality improvement initiatives within the department.
  12. Assess risk incident reports and participate in risk management.

Qualifications

  1. Specialization Degree.
  2. Minimum 3 years post-specialization in Critical Care Knowledge / Technical Skills.
  3. Three years experience in an acute care hospital intensive care unit.
  4. BLS certification.
  5. ACLS certification.
  6. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  7. Critical decision-making abilities.
  8. Strong customer service commitment.
