Job summary

Petrofac in Abu Dhabi seeks a Construction Specialist to lead safe, high‑quality execution of oil and gas projects. You will ensure work is performed to international standards, within schedule, and in line with site rules and construction sequences.

The role requires mechanical engineering studies and 2+ years on site with an international E&C company, plus excellent communication, problem solving and ability to provide guidance.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex information clearly.
• 2+ site experience in direct hire construction within international E&C in oil & gas.
• Ability to independently perform, diagnose issues and guide teams.
• Mechanical Engineering studies or degree field relevant to construction.

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects are constructed safely and to international standards, on schedule and in sequence.
• Lead safety initiatives, toolbox talks and safety awareness training on site.
• Apply knowledge of construction methods, QC and inspection requirements.
• Advocate for quality installations and right-first-time execution.
• Understand and apply site work rules consistently.
• Implement standardized construction processes, procedures and systems.
• Communicate openly and maintain approachable leadership style.
• Daily site inspections to maintain housekeeping standards or initiate action when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensures that the projects are constructed safely and to international standards, schedule, and

construction sequence

• Demonstrates a personal commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental excellence and leads by example i.e., leads toolbox talks, actively involved in safety awareness training, etc.
• Knowledgeable in all facets of respective discipline construction methods and techniques, as well as quality control and inspection requirements
• Strong advocate for quality construction installations ensuring right, the first time
• Understands and consistently applies the site work rules
• Implements standardized construction work processes, procedures, manuals and systems
• Displays an open/honest communications style and is approachable
• Inspects the jobsite daily to ensure that the housekeeping standards are met or takes immediate action if the standards are not being met

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• Excellent communications skills
• Experience in direct hire construction with an international E&C company including at least 2+ site experience in the oil & gas industry handling preservation
• Has knowledge and experience to independently perform, solve complex issues and provide guidance.
