Job summary

Rakhat Construction in Ras Al Khaimah is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Engineer to support planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. You will review drawings and specifications, prepare technical submissions, and ensure works align with approved documents and authority requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience as Technical Engineer or similar in construction contracting.
• Experience on residential, commercial, villa, high-rise or mixed-use projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of drawings, specifications, BOQs, shop drawings, materials and construction methods.
• Experience in preparing and following up technical submittals, material submittals, RFIs and consultant approvals.
• Familiarity with UAE authority requirements and construction documentation standards.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office and document-control systems; BIM/Revit is an advantage.
• Strong coordination, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage submissions and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret drawings, specs, BOQs, and contract documents.
• Prepare, review, and coordinate shop drawings, coordination drawings, and bar bending schedules.
• Submit material submittals, method statements, data sheets, samples, ITPs for approvals.
• Raise and close RFIs, technical queries, NCRs, and design clarifications.
• Coordinate with PMs, site engineers, QA/QC, consultants, subcontractors, and procurement.
• Provide technical support to site teams to follow latest approved drawings.
• Monitor drawing revisions and maintain registers for drawings and submittals.
• Follow up with consultants and authorities for approvals.
• Ensure activities comply with designs, specs, codes, QA/QC, and safety.
• Assist with quantity take-offs, BOQs, variations, and technical evaluations.
• Participate in site inspections, meetings, snagging, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Identify design clashes and constructability issues early; propose solutions.
• Prepare technical reports and progress updates for management.
