Job summary

Careers International is hiring a Safety Officer to oversee safety practices at construction sites. You will ensure compliance with safety regulations, develop programs, and conduct regular inspections to prevent incidents.

The role emphasizes risk assessment, incident investigation, and ongoing training to promote a proactive safety culture across the workforce. Strong OSHA knowledge and CSP/OSHA certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in construction or contracting.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA certification, or equivalent safety certification preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and risk assessment practices.
• Excellent communication and training skills; ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Safety Compliance: ensure construction activities meet regulations and company policies.
• Develop, implement, and enforce safety programs, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct regular inspections and report on OSHA compliance and safety issues.
• Risk Assessment: perform risk assessments and identify hazards on site.
• Training: conduct safety trainings, toolbox talks, drills, and emergency response sessions.
• Incident Reporting: maintain records and submit safety reports to management/regulators.
• Equipment & PPE: ensure PPE availability and proper use on-site; maintain safety gear.
