Construction Project Engineer

Job Purpose

To ensure the Project Manager's instructions are implemented on project site. Ensures execution of project as per instruction and program in accordance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.

Key Accountabilities

1. Complying with all Company policies, quality procedures, statutory regulations and project specifications for the work allocated to him.
2. Ensure that all assigned work by the PM or CM is carried out in a professional manner and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the project in compliance with the contracted conditions.
3. Be fully conversant with all the contract documents. Ensure that safety rules and regulations are communicated to the workforce and are fully enforced.
4. Ensure that the quality of material and installation of work is in accordance with the acceptance criteria identified for the project.
5. Collect all resources allocated under his team and the production data, compile the same daily, and submit to the CM or his reporting manager.
6. Manage materials and equipment.
7. Coordinate site staff and equipment for the project.
8. General site management.
9. Responsible for the production, quality, and performance of the team allocated to him.
10. Review all coordinate drawings received and execute with proper coordination with all assigned Sub Contractors.
11. Ensure that work is executed in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications, agreed procedures and method statements.
12. Convey all information on drawings to the workforce in a proper manner and produce details where required.
13. Direct Construction in accordance with the agreed Clause 14 program and the 2-week look-ahead program.
14. Responsible for the proper execution of 4-week and 2-week targets and monitoring the same on a daily basis.
15. Plan and control material operation and supervision.
16. Monitor all Subcontractors' work closely to ensure that the quality of the work is as per specification and is completed on time.
17. Control Subcontractors' performances.
18. Complete all necessary Q.A. documentation related to the work under his direct control and coordinate daily site inspections.
19. Manage site documentation / construction file.
20. Control output of labors and implement steps to improve.
21. Arrange daily reports.
22. Highlight possible variations to Project Manager and provide sufficient information to the Commercial team.
23. Carry out the tasks identified by the Project or Construction Manager.
24. Prepare designated procedures.
25. Sign time cards and control and sign overtime sheets daily.
26. Ensure that the company's Management Systems (Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems, etc.) are implemented, complied with, and maintained across all branch activities and associated project sites.

Qualifications

1. Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
2. Must be a DM (Dubai Municipality) certified engineer, and an unlimited license is preferable.

Experience

1. 5-8 years of relevant experience in the construction / contracting industry, preferably with the Contractor.

Knowledge & Skills

1. Handled similar projects - high rise buildings, hospitals, hotels, etc.
2. Understanding and implementation of QHSE systems/practices for the construction industry.
